【講座概要】
Alight-emitting diode (LED) is known as a monochrome light source. From thetheory, there is no white light directly emitted from the radiativerecombination at the p-n junction. In order to generate white light, eithertri-color mixing with RGB LEDs or phosphor-converted LED (pc-LED) needs to beimplemented. Among various color tuning methods, blue LED with yellow phosphordeposition is the mainstream for white light illumination in solid statelighting. In general, there are three configurations for the arrangement ofyellow phosphor powder, namely, dispersed, conformal, and remote phosphor. Thispresentation will focus on conformal and remote phosphor and compare variouskinds of phosphor deposition methods. The pro-n-cons of each deposition methodwill be discussed in detail. In particular, some newly developedquasi-conformal and remote phosphor dispensing methods will be introduced. These methods use conventional phosphor dispensing equipment without anymodifications but can save substantial amount of phosphor. In thispresentation, the implementing procedure and processing parameters of severalinnovative phosphor dispensing methods will be demonstrated and compared.
